Contenders for top films / personal favourites. Typically they feature brilliant cinematography, perfect pacing, and thematic depth – with either great acting or a deeply engrossing plot (preferably both).

4 and a Half Stars

Great movies, but not at the top list for a variety of reasons. The main reason being I don’t want to dilute the full 5 stars award lolo. Not to take away anything from these movies though – they’re all at least contenders for movie of the year to me
