I am all the things that Summer brings
Insecurity and temporary happiness
Unborn hope and a ticket to the furthest places
Breathing in dreams of old hopes, old lovers
And when she leaves, I’m left with frosted breath
and framed faces of strangers.
I ask her to take your name with her.
Pull your name from my mouth
From where it sleeps between my eyes
Behind thoughts of validity and concentration and identifying conclusions
it’s always you in my big dreams.
But wishing for anything is wishing for too much
And she’ll come and go and I’ll remember.
